Custom 1975 Moto Guzzi 850T (SOLD!)

A Craig Rodsmith Special

Unlike other custom/café builds, this bike is built from the crankshaft out. I started with a 1975 850T, this is the first Guzzi big twin with an oil filter . I upgraded to 89.5 mm Venolia forged pistons, cast iron cylinder liners. Displacement is 977 ccs and compression ratio is 10.5:1 The heads are tumble ported and matched to 36 mm Dellorto carbs. I’ve added a P3 cam and a vintage Bub Hyper exhaust system that has been ceramic coated. I updated to a 10 spring 6 pound flywheel. The crank and components are dynamically balanced. This bike puts out 95 HP at the crank. Of course, the trans and rear drive have been thoroughly gone through with all necessary upgrades and adjustments. It has a custom wire harness with a solid state regulator rectifier and an EarthX lithium ion battery. I’ve logged nearly 100 hours on this build.

The frame, swing arm, triple clamps, wheels and hubs are powder coated. The Marzocchi shocks have been rebuilt and powder coated to match the frame. Progressive springs, FAC dampers and new Brembo calipers up front for great handling and stopping power. The fuel tank comes from Tank Works in Scotland but, the rest of the metal fabrication was done by the legendary Craig Rodsmith. This is an awesome bike to ride, fast and fun.
